Item Description :
This is a vintage Japanese pottery tea bowl of Bizen Ware, which was
made by the greatest Human National Treasure potter, Toyo Kaneshige (1896-1967)
about 60 - 70 years ago.
He is the greatest potter of Bizen ware, who was designated a Human National Treasure in 1952
.
The siganture of the potter is carved on the bottom.  The wooden box with the signature of
the appraiser and another great BIZEN ware's potter, TOSHU YAMAMOTO
(1906-1994)
, who is
a Japanese Human National Treasure in 1987 is also included.  It is guaranteed as the real his (TOYO KANESHIGE) work by TOSHU YAMAMOTO.

Bizen ware is a type of Japanese pottery most identifiable by its ironlike hardness, reddish brown color, absence of glaze, and marklings resulting from wood-burning kiln firing.
