Description
The radio cabinet is in near mint condition. "Near" refers to the fact that the cabinet has been refinished (water based stain and high gloss lacquer) new decal, replaced dial lens, and the Ingraham tag missing. The cabinet has no cracks, hairlines, chips, scratches or repairs to the cabinet. The speaker has no repairs. The radio has a new wire antenna. The original factory resistive power cord (for heat dissipation) has been removed having failed after years of use. The radio is being sold in non-working condition "as is" due to this fact. The "Gemloid" dial is in perfect condition. The two bakelite knobs are original and in perfect condition. The cabinet and chassis restoration was done by H. Christian Walter, Chilliwack, B.C. (radio-antiks) in 2013 which is when I purchased it. The radio was working fine at that time and up until I sold the radio on EBAY. The cord had to be rolled up for shipment. The cord failed and I am re-listing the radio at this time in non-working condition.
Also included are the original listing sheets (5) from (radio-antiks) showing pictures of the radio chassis removed for restoration, copy of the original Emerson chassis wiring schematic, alignment notes, adjustment notes and parts list.
This radio would be a great display piece as is, or for someone with the proper electronic knowledge, the chassis can be modified to accept a new modern power cord.
