Like a good many creative folk, I tend to go a little overboard in gathering my toys around me! As a person devoted to needle-crafting, the last of my acquired hobbies was spinning - goes so well into knitting, one of my earliest avocations! Intent on having what I needed for all the projects I envisioned, I went overboard on purchasing hand-dyed fiber for spinning.
I originally intended to use
by spinning it up myself, to use
in knitting up a many colored afghan for one of my students - but the project was made without including this particular roving. The fiber is  Alpaca, one of the softest wools to spin, dyed in a  colorway called
Shadow World,
a muted combination of black, green, dusty rose & browns.
Clearly, it’s time for me to downsize my smoke-free, pet-friendly home craft studio collection to something I might have a chance to finish in one or two lifetimes! I’m hoping to find eBaying fiber enthusiasts out there, ready to sit down with their spinning wheels to 'spin a fine yarn' for an anticipated project, simultaneously keeping hands busy in these times when we are “safer at home”.  What a blessing to be able to turn our unexpectedly idle hours into productive ones!
