VTG Hallicrafters S-38E Shortwave Tube Radio - lights and sound work!  This has an internal speaker - and an option to plug in a headset.  I used the speaker and managed to tune into AM talk radio within about 5 mins of powering up - so everything works as it should...  I understand these have a "live" chassis - AC power grounds to the radio chassis, evidently, and it is possible to make it hot if you somehow plug it in wrong.  So - just a warning - if you don't know how to work with one of these old tube radios, be careful!
This is in good condition cosmetically, but could be cleaned up a bit and have some of the little rust dings removed.  Front panel lights up well, and main tuner works easily and fairly accurately.  The fine tuner adjustment (band spreader) seems to be stuck - likely it has been pushed back a bit far and needs to be re-aligned.  However, with most  frequencies and a decent antenna (which i don't have) that isn't much of a problem - and is also not that hard to fix.  Just a bit tedious...
I will send this via USPS - unless another option is more efficient.  This weighs about 12 pounds or so, so it may be better to go via Fedex, depending on your location.  Once you win, wait and I will send you an invoice...
