Vintage Syracuse China Milwaukee Road "Peacock" Soup Bowl - Railroad China
Made exclusively for Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific Railroad
Formally known as "Milwaukee Peacock", the Milwaukee Road railroad purchased the exclusive rights to this pattern for use in its dining car service. It shows a blue peacock among flowers with a blue scallop edge design.
This piece is a soup bowl measuring 8" in diameter and 1 3/8" high. Marked on the back with O.P.CO. Syracuse China U-10" which dates this piece to October of 1940 according to Syracuse date marking protocol.
I have a few other pieces in this pattern listed separately.
