Vintage Schlitz Beer 3 Panel Light Up Bar Advertising Clock Sign.
This RARE vintage Schlitz advertising bar clock features 3 plastic panel windows. The two side panels feature a diamond pattern with “Schlitz” in gold lettering. The front panel covers the clock (Roman numerals) with the iconic red Schlitz belt wrapped around the blue/yellow globe. A decorative brown plastic casing keeps everything intact and wooden pendulums hang below.
Aesthetically this Schlitz advertising bar clock is in excellent condition with all the original parts. Plastic panel windows are intact-no cracks and only very minor scratches etc. Minor scuffs here and there due to age. Gold “Schlitz” lettering on side panels shows some wear. Part of chain for one pendulum is missing and there may be a piece missing that hangs from a mechanism on the bottom between the two chains.
I’m not sure if this piece is supposed to light up. When I plugged it in it did not light up. I could here clock mechanisms working, the mechanism between the two chains moved back and forth, but the hands on the clock did not move.
That being said, I believe this clock to be quite rare as I could not find it anywhere online. I think it’s from the 1960s-1970s as it came from a friend whose husband was in the beer distribution business during that time. He passed away in the 1990s and it has been stored in her garage for 30 years.
Great man cave / home bar piece for decorative purposes or a great restoration project.
Measures approximately 17 1/4” wide x 13 1/2” tall x 6 1/4” deep.
An excellent rare addition to any breweriana collection.
