VINTAGE OLD ANTIQUE 1939 STROMBERG-CARLSON 420H RADIO;2BANDS,TUNING EYE,WORKS!!

Up for auction this week is this beautiful and great sounding Stromberg-Carlson radio from 1939.  This is model 420-H.  Stylish wood cabinet in very good shape.  Striking brand new old stock tuning eye tube, bright and GREEN.  Glass slide rule dial with clear graphics works smoothly.  Also has push button tuning.  The grille cloth is a modern replacement.  The chassis has been fully restored.  All tubes have been tested good (several replaced).  The chassis has been cleaned and lubricated and all capacitors have been replaced with their modern equivalents.  As a result this radio sounds great across the AM broadcast band and the Shortwave band.  Also tunes the old "Police band" which doesn't have anything on it anymore.  The band switch shows the star (police band), white circle (AM broadcast band) and red circle (SW band).  The only real issue that this radio has is that the plastic escutcheon around the dial has warped a little and does not fully cover the cabinet opening.  This radio is really a find.  The radio is quite heavy (25 pounds unpacked).  Measures 22 inches long by 12 inches high by 9 inches deep.  Please keep in mind the size and weight of this radio (and how they will effect the shipping charges) before bidding.  Buyer pays shipping charges.  Good luck!
