Description
This is a beautiful set of original James Kent chintz porcelain in the creamer and open sugar - the Rosalynde pattern. James Kent (Ltd.), Old Foley Pottery was established at Longton, Staffordshire, England in 1897 and was in business until about 1989. Longton is a southern district of Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England.
Our research indicated that this particular pattern was made beginning in the 1930’s when chintz was growing in popularity in England. Pink and yellow roses and rosebuds, forget-me-nots and several other flowers and foliage decorate both pieces in the old Rosalynde pattern. Gold gilt trim highlights both pieces and is in excellent condition.
Both pieces are marked “JAMES KENT LTD., LONGTON, MADE IN ENGLAND, “Rosalynde” (in more of an itallics). The creamer also has the number “68” printed above the other lettering with the word “DIAMOND” impressed along the outer edge.
Dimension/size
– The creamer stands just under 3” tall at the handle and is about 4” across also at the handle. The circular foot is about 1 ¾” in diameter. The sugar stands right at 2” tall and is about 3” across at the opening. The circular base is about 1 5/8” in diameter. Together they weigh about five ounces.
Condition
– This set is in very good condition. There is some minimal crazing on the interior of the creamer and on the exterior on and around the handle that can be seen under a bright light and magnification. There is a small chip on the lower rim of the sugar base. It should also be noted that while the exterior pattern of these two pieces matches nicely, the interior colors are off just slightly. The interior of the creamer is a little off white while the interior of the sugar is more of a bright white. Hardly noticeable but worthy of mention. There is also some dark speckling common with early production pieces such as these.

About Us
The Amazing Grace on eBay store was opened to assist us in selling the rather extensive estate of a friend's mother that we have "inherited". Sally collected a variety of things for many years and 95% of the over 1,200 treasures have been in storage for the last 20 years or more. From depression glass to Asian porcelain and carvings to Native American turquiose & silver jewelry, Sally was a very accomplished collector and even had numerous reference books that accompanied her collections.
We fully understand that in order to sell this vast estate we must offer excellent customer service and fair prices in order to earn repeat customers. Our goal is to make sure each and every customer has a positive buying experience and is completely satisfied. While not experts by any means, we will do our best to fully and accurately describe our offerings. We expend a great deal of effort in researching each piece to insure an accurate description and your satisfaction is our highest priority.
