Vintage 1949 Wards Airline Model 94BR-1535A Tube AM-FM Walnut Bakelite Radio

1949 Wards-Airline AM radio Model 94BR-1535A. This as found  unrestored radio is in excellent condition for its age. No breaks or cracks in the Bakelite cabinet, and it still retains a nice shiny finish. The plastic that covers the slide rule dial is perfect, without any warpage, which is very common on this particular model. The cardboard backer is present, but a little tattered. The power cord is in good supple condition. This Model also has the original auxiliary input phono jack. The radio also has a tone control, giving it a nice deep rich sound.
This radio powered up and received local AM & FM radio stations. AM reception in strong & clear; the FM reception is a little quieter, but hooking up an external antenna should improve this.There is a little bit of scratchiness while adjusting the volume.
This radio will be properly packed to protect it from physical damage during shipping. I have NEVER had an issue with physical damage during shipping in all my years of selling fragile antique electronics. Though due to the age of this radio, and the nature of vintage tube radios, I cannot guarantee that it will arrive functioning in the same manner, as when I shipped it, since vibrations in shipping can affect the electronics. This seldom is the case, but it can happen. Therefore, it is being sold as is, for restoration, repair, or parts, without warranty and returns are not accepted.
