All capacitors have been replaced. Knobs tuned up for frequency tuning accuracy. Bakelite is in fantastic condition. No cracks, no repairs. New power cord. Original was too far gone to be of use. Cover on the tuner dial is original and has some imperfections. Will play faithfully for years to come. The Philco 48-460 is a favorite for many with its marbled Bakelite cabinet, rounded corners and wrap-around louvers. An unusual upper deck is accented with stylized knobs and that unmistakable dial in the shape of a broad smile, well lit by the light inside. Top mounted controls are simple Volume and Tuning, and a small dial pointer sweeps across the dial arch to indicate stations. Would make a fine gift. Seller Lot #20071.

    Description

See Photos.  Comes from an immaculately clean non smoking home.  In very good condition.  Complete restored.  Sounds *fantastic*.  Internals were gone over with a fine tooth comb.
The Bakelite cabinet takes on a marbled appearance in stronger lighting. Dial scale is in excellent shape as well and has well defined numerals and graphics that look cool in a dimly lit room. Electronics have been recently serviced with tuner and dial mechanics lubed, and a multitude of other checks performed for out-of tolerance components, wiring, etc. The old wax/foil capacitors were replaced to insure sound free of hum or distortion. Radio has sensitive reception from its six tube design after an alignment, and nice fidelity of sound across the AM band from the original oval speaker. Power cord was replaced.  One caveat is that the backboard is missing. The inner perimeter loop antenna is firmly fastened, and the factory tube layout diagram is intact and legible on the bottom surface. Cabinet measures 12 inches wide, stands 7.5 inches high, and is 7 inches deep from front of grill to back side.
