Vintage 1938 Zenith Model 6-J-230 Tombstone Style Radio Wood Case
The model 6-J-230 dates from 1938 and is typical of many radios of that era. Using six tubes, it covers the standard broadcast band and shortwave frequencies from 5.6 to 18 megahertz. The cabinet is simple but elegant, with a six-inch circular dial echoed by a circular design in the upper speaker grille. The front and sides of the cabinet appears to be covered with finely grained veneer.
Measures approximately 17 1/2" tall x 13 1/2" wide x 10 1/2" deep.
This is vintage and pre-owned; Estate found. There is wear/tear and weathering/discoloration throughout that is consistent with its near antique age. Some slight wear in the speaker mesh, but no rips or tears as far as we can see. Has original Zenith branded knobs. Totally UNTESTED; The power cable looks like it will need replacing, so we did not want to risk damaging the radio by plugging it in.
