.   This is one of a total of seven of these Kan-O-Seats that I personally purchased from the grand daughter of the inventor of these.  Her husband told me that he could remember being down in the basement of his wife's grand father bending the metal rings for these seats.  I was told that Mr. Johnson would set up at the World's Fair selling these.  Also, he (Mr. Johnson) invented many other things, including some cast iron door stops.  He lived in Ionia Michigan.  The Stafford Company partnered up with Mr. Johnson with making these, and then later this partnership dissolved.  The grand daughter also told me that the earliest versions of these Kan-O-Seats had a formed rounded handle, but later on these discovered it was more economical to make an applied handle.
This Kan-O-Seat is in fabulous condition.  With a very ingenious design, this product folds up allowing you to use it as a handy cane; then, unfolds allowing you to use it as a seat.  The grand daughter said they were very strong.  I weigh in excess of 200 lbs and I was hesitant to sit on one; however, I did and it held me.  When folded, this great item measures:  35" x 9" x 2" P
