    Description

Here we have a Vietnam War M1 Steel Helmet with Mitchell camouflage cover that has a distinctive combat used look to it. The helmet shell is without dents or damage and with both clip-on canvas chinstraps. The liner is a mid-war type marked, “M 7” and with an early sweatband.  The Mitchell liner has seen a lot of time in the bush and is with faded color from the sun and monsoons. It is worn through in a few areas around the rim. Handwritten in blue ink in several spots is, “Sheila”, “Sheila Kaye”, and “Sheila Shock”. These inscriptions are just as faded as the rest of the cover and have been on there since the war. Drawn in black ink on the front of the cover is an army Private First Class rank insignia. This is one salty combat used M1 helmet that has been there and spent its time in the bush. A great looking combat veteran.
