Very rare variation of Curta Calculator Type I, 1951, #8189, w/can TOP WORKING

This sale from my personally collection is for a
rare, early, intermediate variation of
Curta Type I mechanical calculator with low serial No 8189
Having been made in march 1951, in the early years of production of the Type I series, which started in the late 40s.
This Curta calculator is a particularly interesting specimen as it incorporates features of early and later production models.
Features of the very early designs of Curta calculators type I are
the name CURTA written (with square letter A between signs of quotation) plus the inscription SYSTEM CURT HERZSTARK underneath
the
early style me
tal crank with no indicator arrow
clearing ring shoulder screw rather than more common rivet
the original black oxide baseplate screws
metal storage canister features the early style normal right-
handed thread (it opens counterclockwise)
However this curta calculator utilises the narrow rectangular setting knobs with teeth of the later design.
This variation was only produced for a short period.

This Curta calculator
is
very clean and the whole mechanism runs like swiss clockwork.
It operates correctly in every way even with negative crank turns, the ten-carrying mechanism works correctly in every position of the carriage. I performed the testing procedures outlined on the curta.org website and everything is how it is expected.
As can be seen in the photographs, this fine instrument has been well kept and it's showing  signs of use.

For the sake of completeness, it should be mentioned that there is a small, faintly visible vertical engraving on the housing "B.E.E. Co Ltd." This can be seen in one of the photos.
This Curta is an early, all metal Type I without any plastic parts,
means this Curta contains only metal parts, also the crank and clearing lever are made of metal.
Later on, in the mid 1960s, the Type I were only supplied with plastic cranks and plastic clearing levers.
