Description
An oval restaurant ware platter from The Brown News Company, which operated eateries at and near railroad depots and was a railroad concessionaire. It was acquired by Van Noy Railroad News and Hotel Company in 1914. The platter measures about 10 5/8" by 7 1/2" and weighs over 1 1/2 pounds. Shows lots of wear and staining, no cracks or chips. Made by John Maddock & Sons England. Extremely rare example.
