    Description

An absolutely stunning, late 19th century, hand-painted Satsuma bowl, signed Kinkozan. The bowl has three separate panels, 2 of which show court ladies and dignitaries in parlor settings. The other panel is an interior parlor scene with no people. The detail of the painting and surrounding decoration is absolutely beautiful with chrysanthemums, geometric designs, and rich moriage gilded highlights. It is in very good condition with minimal loss of gilt and some staining in the bowl interior. It rests on three small feet, each of which is painted with gilded flowers. Signature is in gold on the bottom. It measures 3 1/4 inches W (8.3 cm) x 2 3/8 inches H (6.1 cm).
