This listing is for a Very Good to Excellent condition, pre-owned Vintage SHENANGO CHINA Pennsylvania Railroad PRR Purple Laurel Pattern Footed Compote.
Produced by SHENANGO CHINA in New Castle, PA.  Estimated circa 1920-1950's (+/-).
Pattern was produced for exclusive use in PRR Dining Car service.  Piece is railroad backstamped.
Piece exhibits only minimal signs of handling, use, or wear, consistent with age and normal dining car service use.  No discernible utensil marks noted.
No chips, cracks, crazing, or other known defects beyond those noted below.
May exhibit minor flea bites, transfer, decorating, glazing, or mold blemishes.  Minor transfer blemishes noted.
Piece is marked with appropriate combination SHENANGO CHINA hallmark and PRR Keystone backstamp on bottom as shown in photos.
Measures 3 1/2" diameter at footed base x 6 1/2" diameter at rim edge x 3 5/8" high.
