    Description

    This item is a Syracuse China Ice Cream Shell in the California Poppy pattern. It is heavy restaurant china by Syracuse China. It is backstamped “O.P.CO./SYRACUSE/CHINA”.  It has a date stamp of “Y-4”, which means it was manufactured in April 1944.
    This pattern was originally used in the Santa Fe Railroad dining cars and at the Barstow Harvey House Restaurant. The Ice Cream Shell is in excellent condition with some very minor utensil marks.  No chips or cracks. The dish is 5 1/8” wide, 6” long and 1¾” high at handle. See photos for detail.
