    Description

    This is a large dinner plate in the "ADOBE" pattern from the Santa Fe Railway.  It has a terrific cactus logo, sharp and distinctly clear and strong rim molding, documenting it's Econo-Rim by Syracuse China.
    It is railroad back marked for the AT&SF with the three-line marking;
    MADE EXPRESSLY FOR
    SANTA FE
    DINING CAR SERVICE
    The date code is very difficult to read, but it looks like 3-OO (1960) or 3-CC (1948) The number 3 stands for March.
    VERY IMPORTANT - This plate is "MINT EXCEPT ...."
    it is in absolutely lovely condition - it looks like it's never been used -
    except
    there is an oval ground off area at about the 1 o'clock position.
    See our pictures, we've tried to point it out. Someone clearly ground away surface trash that was spoiling the plate; it has an unglazed surface.
    This plate would do if you need a filler until a better one comes along. Dinner plates this size are hard to find.  It would look good in a display cabinet setting off smaller items in front of it.
