    Description

Here is a rare and early piece of figural American Art Pottery - a dramatically modeled, uninstalled antique pottery fountain frog– 6” tall x 6” wide and 6” long – possibly Galloway, we are not sure – but certainly early 20
    th
Century. There are no chips or cracks, the high gloss glaze features shades from greens to mustard brown. There are a few bottom edge glaze nicks but they’re immaterial and truly overall this is a gem and a rare survivor. His mouth is open and the figure is open on the underside – the water would be pumped up through the bottom of whatever he is mounted on and then shoot out his mouth – likely it would have been one of a several strategically placed frogs in a large fountain/garden installation.  This frog is old sand colored clay and quite heavy – weight is over 3 Pounds and the details and colors are very attractive. A rare, unusual and visually impacting art pottery piece, no marks or signatures – buyer pays 19.95 safe bubble shipping and tracking in USA  -
