    Description

LOCAL PICK UP ONLY (see below)
Rare hand-decorated platter, shape designed by Viktor Schreckengost to be part of a dinnerware line by American Limoges (Sebring, Ohio), called "Peasant Ware." This line was meant to look wheel-thrown, and was eventually voted down by the factory executives, who thought it too modern. (It predates Fiesta Ware by several years.)
Approximately 13.5" x 1" platter with a Cubist-inspired still life by Viktor Schreckengost. This ivory glaze is probably the "oyster white" that Donald Deskey requested for use in a room setting of his design, during an art-in-industry trade show during this year.
Some black marks from the making (especially on the back). No nicks, chips, hairlines, or repairs.
