    Description

    Offered is a historical gem  a spittoon from the GREAT hotel Del Monte of Monterey, California. The condition is remarkable for its circa 1924. The spittoon is top marked "HOTEL DEL MONTE" and has a bottom mark  " O.P.CO. SYRACUSE - CHINA E-9 ". The E-9 dates this beauty to September 1924. NOW ! READY !! The hotel was destroyed twice by fire. It was opened in 1880 and burned down in 1887. Rebuilt and once again burned and destroyed by fire in October of 1924!! This spittoon dates to September 1924 BEFORE THE GREAT FIRE OF "24".  BET IS ON THAT A SPITTOON FROM THIS CIRCA AND DATE ISN'T AROUND!! Not in this condition. No chips. cracks, grazing, no repairs or damage of any kind. That's right!! It's the Best in the West and around. If you are a collector step-up! Pictures are hard to take  because this artifact is so CLEAN and bright!
