Description

NEW ITEM – A POWER OUTLET STRIP FOR YOUR VINTAGE DELTA UNISAW.
THIS IS PROBABLY THE MOST USEFUL AND CONVENIENT ADDITION YOU COULD MAKE TO YOUR TABLE SAW AND WORK SHOP.
IF YOUR SAW IS A VINTAGE DELTA UNISAW, RUNNING ON 115V SINGLE PHASE POWER, THIS POWER STRIP WILL WORK ON YOUR SAW.
IF YOU HAVE A 220 VOLT SAW OR A 3 PHASE SAW, …….SORRY, THIS ITEM WON’T WORK FOR YOU.
The table saw is usually the centerpiece of a woodworking shop.  Its primary function is to cut wood, but most table saw surfaces then become the go-to bench …. for sanding, drilling, routering, and assembling your projects.  Many of these additional functions that take place on the table saw work surface require a power tool and an extension cord.
Why not have additional power outlets right on the saw?
I use my saw every day and know exactly what would make it more useful, so I developed this bolt-on power strip to accommodate the power needed for my modified router table extension wing, for my orbital sander, for my jointer which sets next to the saw, and anything else that needs power.  I don’t recall when I last had to get out an extension cord.
The power strip is a true bolt-on accessory, meaning no holes need to be drilled in your pristine vintage saw cabinet.  The power strip bolts to the saw using the two table top bolts on the left side.  The electrical power comes in the rear bottom side of the strip through a heavy duty flexible strain relief, feeds the four 15A outlets, and exits the top front of the strip.  The 12/3 SJOOW cord from the power strip outfeed goes across the top front of the cabinet, and by inverting the outer part of the die cast switch box, the power feed for the saw itself enters from the top instead of from the bottom of the box as Delta original planned it.
(If your saw uses our new CNC machined billet aluminum two piece switch box instead of a Delta OEM die cast box, we have a modified inner box to use when the outer portion needs to be inverted.)
All components used in fabricating our power strip are new.  The main tube is made of 2” square carbon steel tubing.  All openings in the tube were cut in a Haas CNC machining center.  End caps and bracketry were all TIG welded in place in our assembly fixture, before the fabricated unit was sandblasted, epoxy primered, and then finish painted in gloss gray two part industrial urethane lacquer.
All exposed fasteners used in the assembly are 18-8 stainless steel.
The power cord is a 15 foot black 12/3 SJOOW high quality cord with a black Levitan grounding plug.  The receptacles are UL/CSA approved Hubbell 15A three wire grounded duplex outlets.  The power strip incorporates a heavy bent steel hook to hang the cord when the saw is not in use and incorporates a PVC tube to conveniently store the saw’s miter close at hand, yet out of the way.
The power strip is provided with new bolts and washers for attaching it to your saw and cord enough to allow you to easily terminate the power to the saw’s switch at the switch box.
So……no holes to drill, no power cord at your feet, a miter holder, four accessory outlets, a hanger for the saw’s power cord …. seems like a welcome addition to any 115V Delta Unisaw.
The miter holder is similar to the holder we sell separately in another eBay listing.  Read about the merits of our miter holder on that website, knowing all along that the same miter holder has been incorporated into this power outlet strip.
