Description
Very nice art deco style case table radio from 1937. Philco model 37 - 610, codes 121-122. Radio was found in very good unrestored condition. Case appears to be in original condition and has only been cleaned. Radio chassis has had all the electrolytic and paper capacitors replaced as well as all resistors, excepting the wire-wound power resistor. RF chassis shock mounts have also been replaced. Any wiring in poor condition has been replaced, including the power cord. Size is: 20 1/2" W x 11 1/2" H x 9 3/4" D, weight is 22 Lbs. There is NO chassis Rust. Please Note, There is one condition issue: The Tone Control section of the OFF / ON / Tone Control switch is bad and one of the two Tone Selections that seems to give the best tonal balance has been connected. It may be difficult to find a proper replacement switch for this part?
This radio does Not have the Philco High-Efficiency Arial "transmission line" therefore a conventional "long-wire" antenna is connected.
The original can style electrolytic capacitors on the top of the chassis have been retained to maintain a more original look. Modern parts have been installed under the chassis.
