Pair Antique Japanese Imari Phoenix Decorated Bowls

Description

A beautiful pair of old Japanese Imari raised bowls or trays. They are decorated in the traditional Imari palette of underglaze blue, rust red, green, gray and gold. The center scenes are of flying Phoenix in a garden setting. The borders are alternating panels of brocades and swimming fish and waves. The pieces measure 6 1/2" long, 5 1/2" wide and 1 1/4" deep at the rims. There are no markings or signatures on the bases. They are in very good condition for their age with one small point chip to one (see photo). I am able to ship to the USA only.
