Here we have an absolutely stunning Crosley model D-25WE table top tube clock radio. Nicknamed the 'Dashboard', this beauty features a gorgeous white Bakelite cabinet, great automotive motif
, working clock, built in loop antenna and
excellent
performance.
Cabinet:
The Bakelite cabinet is an absolute stunner and free from any chips, breaks or cracks. It was stripped down to its factory primer and re-painted back to its original white color. It's eye catching shape, and automobile themed dial, grills & escutcheons, showcase the transition from the Art Deco era to the Jet Age. The cabinet has been meticulously cleaned and polished with QAR-GLAYZE to produce a beautiful luster & shine.
(This amazing polish is available in our eBay store or click here:

).
This highly collectible clock radio is sure to spruce up any room in the home or office you choose to display it in.
Dial & Knobs & Clock:
The left dial features a working clock that keeps good time. The small knobs on this dial control radio on/off, sleep timer and alarm. The right dial features the AM broadcast scale and pointer. The larger, bottom knobs control volume and tuning. The clock setting rod is located in the back of the radio. The brass escutcheons & features are in great shape with excellent shine. They do show some wear up close but not bad for 68 years old! The alarm and sleep functions are being described as not tested. Although the set has been electronically restored, it still operates on vintage electronics & design and should not be left on (sleeping or alarm) unattended.
Chassis:
All tubes in the 5 tube chassis were tested with any weak tubes being replaced. All caps, filters and resistors were checked and replaced as needed. All brittle or bare wiring was replaced or re-insulated. The chassis has been cleaned, lubed and re-aligned for optimal performance. Using just the built in loop antenna the radio performs exceptionally well. I'm able to receive many stations across the AM broadcast band with great tone and room filling volume. There is also a working phono input on the back of the radio.

Antique tube radio reception can differ greatly depending on location, length of antenna, time of day and amount of interference in different areas. Many modern day appliances can also interfere with reception and cause static, distortion or buzzing. This is a 75+ year old AM radio. It's reception, sound and performance should not be expected to compare to a modern radio with today's technology. Playing capability is accurately described based on my location, surroundings and hooked up to a 12’ copper line antenna. The antenna will be included with the sale but I cannot guarantee reception quality in your area. It may differ (better or worse) depending on your location, surroundings, distance from AM broadcasts in your vicinity and interference. Antique Radio Electronics, whether restored or un-restored, are by nature hazardous due to their voltage, design, age and should not be operated unattended or for great lengths at a time. Any operation, repairs or other adjustments are done at your own risk
INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS PLEASE READ BELOW FOR BIDDING AND SHIPPING DETAILS
Please wait for an invoice to be sent by me, with actual shipping costs, prior to paying. eBay's automated invoice does not factor in insurance. If payment is made prior to my invoice being sent, another invoice may be sent for the additional charges. International bidders please email me for a shipping quote prior to bidding.
I sell quality antique radios and describe them accurately as can be confirmed with my outstanding feedback. I have sold many sets to my valued customers, museums, high profile businesses and as TV/Movie props. All have been extremely pleased, so bid with confidence.
My radios are expertly packed using over sized boxes, many layers of bubble wrap and several inches of packing material surrounding each side of the radio so you can be assured they arrive safely. USPS is my default shipping method. UPS can be requested but shipping charge may change.
Policies / Warranty: We offer a 14 day money back guarantee (buyer pays return shipping with professional packing) if the radio has been grossly misrepresented. Our radios are accurately described and in working order when shipped out. In rare instances however, as with any vintage electronics, minor problems can occur during shipment due to the age and delicacy of antique radio parts. If your radio arrives and does not work please let us know. We will gladly walk you through the process of troubleshooting to get it started. If that fails to correct the problem we will pay for return shipping to us, diagnose and fix the problem, and return the radio to you. We also offer a 30 day warranty on all
the tubes, capacitors and resistors. Due to the design of some antique radio parts we cannot warranty transformers, coils, tuners, and speakers. However, if at any time these parts would happen to fail, we will assist in repairing or replacing the defective part at a fair cost.
In rare instances, if there is
shipping damage,
a USPS insurance claim request must be made to me from the buyer immediately upon receipt of the radio. A USPS inspection of the radio, boxes, and all packing materials may be required. The refund will be issued upon USPS approval and payment of the insurance claim.
If you have any questions please email me and I will answer in a timely manner.
International Bidders: This auction is open to international bidders however I ask that you email me prior to bidding for a shipping cost quote. Please be aware that USPS will not fully insure shipments to some countries. If that is the case with your country, you assume the risk of any damage or undelivered package. If your country does not provide tracking to your door email me with your local post offices contact info prior to bidding. Also, please be aware of your country’s customs policies, handling times, charges and duty taxes. These regulations are out of my control and the responsibility of the buyer. And last, due to the weight and size of some antique radios, USPS may only ship to some countries via USPS Global Express which can be very expensive. So please email me for a shipping quote prior to bidding or your bid may be retracted and/or transaction cancelled.
