Norfolk and Western Railway Yellow Bird Fruit Bowl 1951 Shenango

Description

Norfolk and Western Railway used this pattern, called Yellow Bird, on The Pocohantas and Powhatan Arrow dining cars.
Although the bird design in the center is a stock pattern, the railroad added the wide maroon band around each piece for their exclusive use and Shenango was the only manufacturer.
No railroad backstamp was ever used on this pattern.
The fruit bowl measures 5 3/4 inches in diameter. Shenango manufactured this in 1951. Near mint condition.
