    Description

Norfolk and Western Railway used this pattern, called Yellow Bird, on The Pocohantas and Powhatan Arrow dining cars.
Although the bird design in the center is a stock pattern, the railroad added the wide maroon band around each piece for their exclusive use and Shenango was the only manufacturer.
No railroad backstamp was ever used on this pattern.
The saucer measures approx. 4 3/4 inches in diameter. It has the wide maroon band but, like all smaller pieces, it contains only a portion of the design. In this case, just the double flower buds. Shenango manufactured this piece in 1952.
Near mint condition. If you have the demitasse cup, this saucer is for you.
