    Description

Norfolk and Western Railway used this pattern, called Yellow Bird, on The Pocohantas and Powhatan Arrow dining cars.
Although the bird design in the center is a stock pattern, the railroad added the wide maroon band around each piece for their exclusive use and Shenango was the only manufacturer.
No railroad backstamp was ever used on this pattern.
This 7 1/4 inch bowl is in the coupe shape. Near mint condition with one tiny fleabite on the rim. Shenango manufactured this in 1952.
