Norfolk and Western Railway Cavalier Coupe Bowl 1930s Scammell Topmarked

Description

Norfolk and Western Railway used this pattern, called Cavalier, on their dining cars. The pattern consists of a stylized Greek Key design and floral elements in shades of brown and green with the intertwined letters N&WRy.
This coupe style bowl is one of the harder to find pieces in this pattern. It measures 7 1/2 inches in diameter. Near mint condition with just a few utensil marks. Scammell manufactured this bowl circa 1930s-1954, according to the backstamp.
This would be the centerpiece of any N&W collection. Perfect for the railroad china collector.
