    Description

New York World's Fair in Pictures - Views of the New York World's Fair. Published in 1939 by Quality Art Novelty Company, Inc., Long Island City, NY. Staple-bound with card stock covers. 48 pages plus covers. Measures about 9 1/2" x 12".
Condition is very nice. The staple binding has held up and the covers remain attached. There is minor scuffing to the covers and wear to the spine. There are no bookplates, ink names, pen/pencil notations, or similar flaws.
This souvenir book contains iconic images of the 1939–1940 New York World's Fair, held at Flushing Meadows–Corona Park in Queens, New York. It was the second-most expensive American world's fair of all time, exceeded only by St. Louis's Louisiana Purchase Exposition of 1904. Many countries around the world participated, and over 44 million people attended the exhibits in two seasons. It was the first exposition to be based on the future, with an opening slogan of "Dawn of a New Day," and it allowed visitors to view "the world of tomorrow."
