NEW YORK CENTRAL MERCURY PATTERN Fruit Bowl 1955 Syracuse

Description

New York Central Railroad used this pattern, called Mercury , starting in 1936 by Buffalo China. Syracuse China later produced it and then Shenango.
Body color is off white with brown NYC in block letters and, depending on the size of the piece, matching brown pinstripes.
The fruit bowl is 5 1/4 inches in diameter. It is railroad backstamped as shown and dates to 1955. Excellent almost unused condition.
