    Description

This beautiful and rare celery dish was made by Haviland, Haviland & Co Limoges. This piece is not railroad back stamped. It is 12" in length by 4 1/2" in width and approximately 1 3/4" deep. Based on the decor, it is my guess that it dates around the end of the 19th century. The dish itself has no cracks or chips and no utensil marks. There is, however, some wear to the gold decoration on each end and to the top logo which, however, remains quite legible. This is a rarely offered piece of railroad dining car china.
Please note. This is old commercial grade china as used by railroads, steamship lines, etc., not fine china. There may be in this kind of china tiny dark flecks, pits, etc. This kind of china saw service at least once a day almost year round. I will describe and photograph to the best of my ability any flaws such as chips, cracks, stains or excessive utensil wear. But please examine my photos and my description carefully before bidding.
