    Description

    Rare! This collectible item is made by Rogers Bros. Discontinued Tuscan pattern: 1852-. The pattern displays a calla lily and is bordered by scrolls at the tip. The flatware was used by the Michigan Central RR Great Lakes Steamer Mississippi. The steamer ran between Buffalo and Sandusky from 1853 to 1859.
    Monogrammed " Mississippi" on back of handle tip.
    The Steamer Plymouth Rock and Steamer Western World were launched in 1854 by Michigan Central Railroad for service between Buffalo and Detroit. These were the finest steamers on the Great Lakes. The dining hall could seat 200 and the original silver service for each ship cost ,000.
