New York, Colonial Esso, 1939. Folio, 11-3/4 inches high by 11 inches wide. A 4-page newspaper distributed to service station customers by Colonial Beacon Oil Co, Inc. A photo of the 1939 New York World's Fair grounds is centered on the front page beneath the banner headline
"World's Fair Tops Spring Tours".
Other front page articles include one on the Morris and Essex Kennel Club dog show under the headline "
Doggy Exhibit At Doggy Spot: Lovely 'Giralda Farms' Has Biggest Show"
and a column about the centennial celebration at Cooperstown's Baseball Hall of Fame
"Old Ball Game Really Is Old: Baseball's Centennial Rates Celebration"
. The newspaper's second page is dedicated to coverage of the fair and a map of New York's World's Fair and a brief article framed by photographs of the fair fill the back page. Articles on various subjects of interest to tourists fill page 3, including one about Polo. There is a black stain to the left side of the cover page, likely the result of a cigarette burn, which touches on a few words. There is offsetting to the top left of the cover page and a few spots of minor browning or foxing within. Folded vertically and horizontally with some minor creases. Good.
