    Description

    NEW inventory!! Hot off the press.  The 1629 is a military tube that has the same properties as a 6E5, but it takes 12 volts for the heater instead of 6 volts. These adapters have a little voltage doubler inside that increase the heater voltage to 12 volts. Because of this you can't use these in a series circuit. (radios that have no power transformer).  Also it takes an octal (8 pin) socket instead of a six pin.so this little adapter takes care of that too...
    These little short form adapters only add approximately 1-1/2 inches to the total length of your eye tube assembly.  If you don't have room for that I also have pigtails that eliminate that problem.  See my other auctions for that. Also I have adapters for the Russian 6E5s as well. The difference is that there is no voltage doubler in them and there is a different pinout. I can supply the adapter without the tube for less, see my other auctions...
    this is a great way to give your old radio a new eye tube and for the future it is way less money for a new eye tube,,,
