Description
This photo is an excellent high quality 8” x 10” full COLOR glossy new photo reproduction of a 1960 MACK B-73 or B-75 with the older style L Model cab Tandem-Axle Tractor pulling a triaxle trailer loaded with what might be a LORAIN Wheel Loader.”SAMPLE” will not appear on the actual photo, it is only on the scanned image.
DESCRIPTION: I believe this B-733 or B-753 is carrying a 1960 Wyoming commercial license plate. Rather than using the standard B Model cab, this Mack was built with the older style L Model cab, preferred by some for its additional driver space. Pulling a triaxle lowboy trailer, loaded with what I believe may be a LORAIN Wheel Loader.
If you have a different idea, please let me know.
This color photo has a white border on all 4-sides.
This tractor is most likely a B-733 with a turbocharged engine
HISTORY OF THE MACK B-73/B-75 Series: “Built like a Mack Truck” ... what a wonderful statement - one of the best descriptions you can give a piece of equipment designed to stand up to tough conditions. The standard Mack B-60/B-61 Series Models were introduced in 1953, and became one of Mack’s most successful models, with over 125,000 of them sold. It was revolutionary in appearance for its time ... rounded lines of cab and hood. with more engine room for larger engines as they became available. By 1955 Mack was introducing its larger B-73 and B-75 models, built heavier and with larger engine options. Some 2,520 B-73 models were built from 1955 to 1966, along with another 720 B-733 turbocharged models. Another 1,619 B-75 models were built from 1955-1966, along with 1,825 B-753 turbocharged models. Sometimes referred to as the ‘Great Western Group’, the B-73 and B-75 were introduced to replace the classic LTL models. Built with both standard and lightweight components, with a wide range of Mack and optional Cummins diesel engines from 205 to 262 hp.
