    Description

THIS AUCTION LOT CONSISTS OF:  Set of nine original vintage 1940s-1950s promotional photographs of various musicians as well as a few then-popular tap dancing stars from the late-Vaudeville Era. These were discovered in Seattle and evidently were from the collection of the owners of a Seattle area nightclub called the New Orleans Club, which was located south of town and across the road from the now long-gone Longacres horse racing track. The New Orleans Club featured a popular BBQ pit, a chef from Louisiana, and Black jazz groups. Billie Holiday is known to have sung there as did Seattle's own jazz star, Ernestine Anderson. Some of these photos are autographed -- and / or inscribed to owners of the New Orleans. (Rare images, so no returns on this lot.)
