  • Item Diameter: 10 1/4 inches
  • Condition: This is a very high quality tambourine. It is made by REMO, which is a maker of drum heads, banjo heads, and of course tambourines. It measures just shy of 10 1/4 inches in diameter, and 1 3/4 inches in thickness. There are 8 sets of the small cymbals (called Zills) that make the very traditional sound of the tambourine. The drum portion is of excellent quality, and the sound projection is clear and loud. It looks as though it were just unboxed today-- It is very very clean. If you see white spots in any of the photos, it is simply camera flashback. The head of this instrument is very shiny, and light from my flash was unavoidable.

    Description

    This is not only a wonderful art piece that captures the heart of worship and celebration, it is an excellent musical tambourine.  The sound projects very well and is pleasant.  The "Zills," or small cymbals are bright in sound and are as loud, or soft, as you might wish them to be. This instrument is very very clean and well made.
    The artwork is from a painting by artist, Betsy Platkin Teutsch. The composition is joyful, playful, and beautiful in celebration.
