    Description

This photo is an excellent high quality 8” x 10” black & white glossy new photo reproduction of a 1948 EUCLID LD 30-Ton Rear Dump.
”SAMPLE” will not appear on your photo, it is only on the scanned image.
DESCRIPTION: The EUCLID LD REAR DUMP with rock body was rated at 30-Ton. The sign in this photo is hard to read, but I can see this truck was powered with a Cummins diesel rated at 275-HP with a 5-speed transmission. Some of the heavy design features in this truck, were a forged I-beam front axle, three-stage double-acting hydraulic hoist, super-strong frame, and Euclid’s own double-reduction planetary rear drive axle. Introduced in 1948, the LD was in production until 1963, when it was replaced by the General Motors’ improved R-Series. In September 1953 General Motors Corporation acquired the Euclid Road Machinery Company, making them a division of GM on January 1, 1954. This photo was taken by famous truck photographer, the late Joe Watchura in Chicago 1948. Note the round platform step behind the right front tire, so viewers could take a better look into the cab.
