Description
an antiqueEnglish cut glass and sterling silver water pitcher.
The piece is hallmarked for sterling silver, London 1909. The date letter is rubbed, but appears to be an O for 1909 under strong light and magnification. The 9 inch tall cut glass pitcher has a hobnail pattern on the body, soft facets on the handle and a large hobstar on the base. The sterling silver top collar is about 1 3/8 inches tall with a beautiful 1 1/4 inch spout.
The pitcher is in very good pre-owned condition with no chips, cracks or damage to the glass other than scratches at the bottom from normal use over 111 years. There are no calcium deposits. The sterling collar has several dings, but no real damage. The spout retains its original form. There is NO MONOGRAM. The piece weighs about 1240 grams, or about 2 3/4 pounds.
