Description
Silver tone statue depicting the deity Ekeko. Ekeko is a male deity derived from the mythology of the indigenous Andean regions. Ekeko is believed tobring monetary wealth to its worshippers.
Some dolls carry household objects and other items that are believed to bring a comfortable and wealthy life, this one does have those trinkets attached. He has a small sleeve or holder in is right hand, in which paper money can be placed. This Ekeko measures approximately 1.5 inches by 1.5 inches. The metal has been tested with an acid test and it is not made of silver, and it is does not have any precious metal stamps. It is in vintage uncleaned condition
. This is one of 4 dolls that were purchased together, and were probably made in Bolivia by a folk artist or artisian.
