    Description

This photo is an excellent high quality 8” x 10” black & white glossy photo new reproduction of  two mid-1960s AUTOCAR DC Dump Trucks being loaded by a NORTHWEST 80-D Shovel. Both trucks and shovel are owned by D. V. Frione & Co., a general contractor from New Haven, CT.
”SAMPLE” will not appear on your photo, it is only on the scanned image.
DESCRIPTION: My original photo was a vintage Autocar factory photo. From the #56566 this truck was slightly newer than a 1965 Autocar that I once owned. In this photo, the pair of Autocars are being loaded by a Northwest 80-D Shovel.
NORTHWEST 80-D: The 80-D Northwest Shovel was produced from 1938 to 1985. As a shovel it was rated at 2-1/2 to 3 CY. It was powered by the amazingly dependable Murphy MP-21 diesel engine. The 80-D in this photo has an A-frame gantry, split boom, and single dipper stick design. More than any other machine, the 80-D represented Northwest … it was a huge success in its lifetime, a leader in cable machine technology.
    D. V. FRIONE COMPANY: From information on the internet, this company was an Autocar user as early as 1922, and may still be in business today?
Any additional information would be appreciated.
CONDITION: This outstanding black & white glossy photo is a newly reproduced photo from a vintage photo in my personal lifetime collection.  This photo has been printed on excellent quality HP PREMIUM GLOSSY PHOTO PAPER using Original HP 64 Inks, producing a professional quality photo that resists fading over 100 years ... the best money can buy.  This 8x10 photo has a narrow white border around the photo.
For your information, the description and documentation of this photo will be loosely taped to the back side of this photo. I try to ad some “added value” to my photos by researching each one, adding some history and information that you may not know. If I get something incorrect, please let me know … thanks!
