PATTERN - 8 1/4" PLATE BY SHENANGO - NOTICEABLE CHIP AS SHOWN
Here's a nice little 8 1/4" plate from the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad in their
Centenary
Pattern (Luckin B&O-5). Manufactured by Shenango China, this type represents a later variation in the series and was probably made between 1949 and 1967 for dining car service. View is titled "Potomac Valley" with an outer ring of various B&O locomotives. Full railroad backstamp as shown. This one would be Fine, but it has a noticeable chip on the underside that extends over the lip at the 11 o'clock position. Virtually no stacking or utensil marks. Pick it up cheap and use it as an everyday plate. Impress your holiday visitors by serving candy or brownies on a genuine piece of railroad china!
