Painted Shapes Glass Original Saturn Lamp 1939 ART DECO Frosted Glass
Attributed to 1939 World's Fair in collector books and is also known as an Art Deco Saturn Lamp.  The inspiration was the space theme of that World’s Fair as well as the sphere and triangle of the Fair.
SIZE:  It measures 11" tall and has a 5” wide base.
CONDITION:  This lamp is an original SATURN LAMP in very good condition and works well and displays beautifully whether lit or not. Two chips:
One small chip on the base, approximately 3" to the left of the electrical cord.
One conchoidal fracture inside the upper half of the globe, near the hole where the rod goes through.  Measures approximately 0.5" x 0.25". It appears that because of this chip the piece that screws on to the top sits a little cock-eyed when fully screwed down into place (can see this in the pictures). The shade is sturdy in place though and isn't wobbly at all.
No other chips that I see.
PAINT: This frosted glass lamp is factory painted inside with green background and white planets, stars and moon.  These painted white star shapes are in good condition with some spots of loss to several of the stars, top and bottom.  The GREEN painted area is good as well, approximately 90% intact paint. The bottom (cone shaped) base is very good frosted white glass, matching the rim of the top of dome. The paint on the base is nice as well.
METAL & HARDWARE:  Metal parts are original and polished beautifully. It has original socket, switch and hardware. Rewired for safety.
This lamp makes a great presentation for Art Deco or World’s Fair collectors or space collectors.
