Description
We are pleased to offer a silverplated sauce or gravy tureen and matching underplate from the Pennsylvania Railroad. It was made by Reed & Barton prior to World War II; the date on the bottom of the tureen is September, 1941. The tureen has the PRR Keystone logo on one side. Both pieces are stamped PRR on the bottoms with the number 971. Condition:
Very good - it has much less than the usual wear and scratches typical of railroad dining car silverplate. The inside is clean; the piece is usable and displays well.
Size:
The underplate is 5 5/8" x 7"; tureen is 3" deep without top, and measures 3 3/4" x 5 1/4" at the opening.
