Antique French Brevet SGDG Bottle in Metal Holder Perfume Contraband Military

This listing is for a very interesting Brevet SGDG glass bottle and metal holder. I'm not 100% sure what this was used for. It does not smell like perfume at all. Its more of a metal smell and a graphite feel. The glass bottle is in good condition and the stopper which is built into the lid has a spring behind it to hold it tight to the bottle when closed. The lid clicks closed as it should and there is a push button on the side to open the lid. The bottle is approx. 7/8" wide x 1 1/4" long. The holder it fits into is metal and is marked Brevet SGDG and  clover mark. This then goes into its outer holder which has 2 see-though parts on each cover. This outer holder is also marked Brevet SGDG. This inside of the outer holder is lined with leather to help protect the inner bottle holder. The outer holder measures 1 5/8" x 1 3/8" x 3/4" thick. Take a look at the pictures. This is a very unusual piece.
