Antique 1932 RCA Superette R-7 Tombstone Radio - Restored

A unique R-7. It appears that sometime in the past, this radio was re-veneered in oak, as I could not find any other examples in oak. An excellent job, but whomever did the work left the front panel surround veneer off, revealing the hardwood underlayment. When I refinished this cabinet, I left the missing veneer as it was, as it not only gives the radio character and sets it apart from others, but I believe it enhances the beauty as well. This is an 8 tube, single band unit. This radio does require an external antenna (not included, of course).
However, because the veneer is missing, no matter how attractive the radio is now, it is not totally original, so I have deeply discounted the beginning auction price, with no reserve.
As with all my radios, the chassis has been completely gone through. The tuner was removed, cleaned, and re-lubricated. All capacitors (except a few Mica) have been replaced, as well as all out-of-tolerance resistors, and all bad wiring. The tubes were checked, and any weak ones were replaced. The radio was then re-aligned to factory specifications, and receives stations all across the dial.
The cabinet was stripped down to the “original” patina, re-stained, and various shades of Mohawk toner were applied. It was then given 10 coats of nitro-cellulose lacquer, and finally, after 2 weeks of curing, it was hand-rubbed with natural beeswax.

Everything will work, however, when I ship it, unless otherwise specified. But any future malfunctions or failures are beyond my control. As such, I can only guarantee that the radio worked before it was shipped. No other guarantee applies, and no refunds will be given.
This radio measures 14" wide, 10" deep, 19" tall, and weighs 37 lbs.
