    Description

PLEASE """""READ FULL ENTIRE DESCRIPTION"""" & VIEW ALL PICTURE BEFORE PLACING A BID ON THIS AMAZING & NICE LOOKING & WORKING RADIO.
Up for your consideration is this Very Nice vintage Philco Transitone tube bakelite AM radio in Great working condition. The model number on this Nice little Gem is PT-2 & I believe it was produced in the 1941 era. The cabinet on this beauty is made of bakelite or think plastic & it is a Deep Dark Rich Chocolate Marbled Brown in color. The Marbling effect shows best in bright light. The cabinet has been cleaned & polished which sill retains it's original sheen or shine & that shine is now a mirror glass shine that keeps going & going & going like the energizer bunny. The louvered front bakelite grill adds a nice touch to the style of the cabinet. There are a couple small scratches not noteworthy of talking about.
This is an Extremely Nice looking radio that just POPS OUT AT YOU to say the least. I that I have taken many pictures & all pictures can be supersized so you may get a good view at this spectacular looking & working radio.
The 2 brown bakelite control knobs
are original & in great looking & working condition.
The Glass Slide Ruled AM dial scale is in Fantastic condition with great graphics & a nice bright working dial light.
The back panel is original & in good condition that hold tight & secure to the radio ""provided you handle the radio correctly"". The loop antenna system on this radio wraps around the inside back edge of the cabinet & it is in great condition which need No additional antenna wire to receive AM reception.
The chassis is in great condition & it is a all American 5-tube unit with 2-controls & both controls have been lubricated & are in great working condition. The tube line up is One-35Z3, One-50L6, One-7C6, One-7B7 & One-7A8. The 2-controls are #1-ON/OFF/VOL & #2-TUNING. The chassis has had all new electrolytic capacitor/filters installed & wax/paper capacitors were replaced as needed & a nice electric cord has been installed. This radio has been restored to good working condition. AS I STATED THIS RADIO IS IN GOOD WORKING CONDITION BUT WITH ALL VINTAGE ELECTRONICS IT IS BEING SOLD IN AS IS CONDITION with no Warranty.
When this Wonderful Philco is powered up, it pulls in many AM stations all across that beautiful dial & plays them clean & clear with plenty of volume & good tone quality in my area.
This Philco Transitone would make an excellent addition to your radio collection or as a stand alone radio as it's power & beauty will surely be the talk of the room by all whom enter.
    The "APPROXIMATE"
    sized of this gem is 11-1/2" long, 6" Wide/Deep & 7-1/2" High.
This is a vintage radio & must be handled & cared for & treated in this manor & not like a modern day boombox. Tube radio technology "unlike modern day solid state radios" can have interference/noise in the sound quality, caused by kitchen appliances, computer monitors, flat screen TV'S, florescent lights, washing machines, high power wires above your home, etc... So where you position/place this radio in your home can make a huge difference & the direction/position it is set in. A lot of tube radios are directional meaning you "may" have to turn the radio one way or the other to receive the best reception. Tube radios take 30 to 45 seconds "for tubes" to warm up before they will start playing.
I have a few antique vintage radios & items listed on eBay at different times so you may want to take a peek now or in the future to see if there isn't anything else that you just can't live with or with out:-) To see other items click here
