  • Condition: Plate # 1 Excellent To Near Mint Condition Illinois Central ICRR - Land O' Corn Dining Car Service Plate Used On The Name Train 'Land O' Corn Of Which Ran Between Chicago And Waterloo, Iowa. A Special Pattern Made For The IC Service And Then Also Used On Their Office Car #1 (photographic evidence well recorded) For A Short Run In The Sixties. A Beautiful Pattern With Hand Painted Berries On Stylized Corn Stalks. The Dinner Service Plate Measures Over 10 1/2 Across And Is The Heavier Type Of Hotel-Restaurantware. Very Scarce Find Today And This Example Is Excellent Near Mint And Strong Gold Rim With A Few Utencil Marks In Center. Not To Be Missed!     Raised Hand Painted Authentic Pieces. Service Plate  Measures Over 10 1/2 Across  Pattern Was Used On The Name Train ''Land 0'Corn & Later Used  On The City Of New Orleans, The Hawkeye & The Seminole. Noted, The Pattern Also Saw Service ON  IC Business  Office Car Car #1. Went On To Be Used IN IC Corporate Setting Before Being Discarded & Sold To Employees. Sometimes, Shards Can Be Found On The R of W

    Plate# 2 Is Listed Here. My Last Plate For Sale. I Have No More. Here is a Rare Illinois Central Lines Dinner - Service Plate In Excellent - Near Mint Condition & No Chips Or Cracks, Very Shiny Glaze. A Few Utencil Marks Only. Service Plate As Made Especially For The Illinois Central Railroad's Name Train ''The Land O' Corn.  The Electric Train Ran Between Chicago & Waterloo, Iowa And Was Short Lived. The China Was Ordered From Adams RW  And Was Of A Lighter weight.  For Those Not In The Know, This Pattern Was Also Used On IC RR New Office Car # 1 And Employed For A Term Of 3 Years. SEE INSET FOTO). This Beautiful Plate Is Excellent To Near Mint With No Damage. Some Of These Larger Plates Had Kiln Marks On The Edge By The Factory.  Will Just Shine In Your Dining Car China Collection.   Not To Be Missed.  My Dad & I Purchased, Many, Years Ago, Dining Car Commissary Stock From The Illinois Central's Demise (Amtrak Era) 1971-72.  We Had Mostly Coral & Linens But Was Able To (Very Difficult) To Obtain Some Great Land 0' Corn Pieces. I Will List Some Ultra Rare Pieces Today & All Of This Week. Also May List Some IC Linens Etc.
